Turning Personal Struggles into Purpose

At Community Support Services, our heartbeat is clear: Compassion. Service. Lasting Impact.

This mission is more than a cause, it's my story.

I didn't step into this work out of ambition, but out of a deep and personal encounter with need, injustice, and God's undeniable call on my life. Community Support Services was not founded because I had all the answers. It was founded because I experienced firsthand what it feels like to need help and not know where to turn.

There was a season in my life when financial hardship, unemployment, and housing instability became a reality. Like so many individuals and families in our communities, I found myself facing challenges that felt bigger than my circumstances. I remember the sleepless nights, the uncertainty of what tomorrow might bring, and the emotional weight that comes from doing everything within your power to move forward while doors continue to close.

One experience in particular changed my life. I applied for rental assistance and met every requirement. I followed every instruction and provided every document requested. Yet because a required form was not completed by a third party within the required timeframe, the assistance was denied. The decision was devastating. I had done my part, but their delay cost me the help my children and I desperately needed.

That moment left me heartbroken—but it opened my eyes to a painful truth: so many people are trying their best but still can't get the help they need. Not because they don't qualify, but because of circumstances outside their control. I began to see the countless individuals and families around me who were facing similar struggles—people who were working hard, doing everything they could, yet still encountering barriers that seemed impossible to overcome. People who needed someone to listen, someone to advocate, someone to care, and someone willing to help them navigate the path forward.

During that difficult season, God began speaking to my heart in a way I could not ignore. Again and again, I was reminded of the words found in Matthew 25:

Those words became more than scripture to me; they became a calling.

I felt God challenging me to become part of the solution. To be a voice for those who felt unheard. To stand in the gap for those facing hardship. To serve people not only with compassion, but with action. And so, Community Support Services was born—founded on the belief that every person deserves dignity, every family deserves hope, and every individual deserves access to opportunities that can change the course of their future.

Our mission goes beyond providing services. We are committed to walking alongside people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives—helping them navigate resources, gain employment, pursue education, overcome barriers, and build a foundation for long-term success. Every program we offer reflects a simple but powerful belief: people are not defined by their circumstances. Behind every request for help is a person with dreams, talents, potential, and a story that matters.

Today, it is both an honor and a responsibility to lead Community Support Services as we serve individuals and families throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Every life we touch reminds me why this work matters. Every success story reminds me that hope is powerful. And every challenge reminds me that our communities are stronger when we care for one another.

My prayer is that Community Support Services will continue to be a source of hope, encouragement, and opportunity for those who need it most. Because sometimes one act of kindness can change a life. Sometimes one opportunity can change a family's future. And sometimes all it takes is one person willing to make an impact.
